About
One theme my work explores is the intersections of humans with nature and how we have attempted to sever this connection through societal constructs surrounding the repression of fluid expression and instinctual vulnerability. In my work, I also seek to reduce stigmas around conversations about mental health through honest representations of my personal experiences with mental health conditions. I draw a great deal of inspiration from observations of the natural world around me and our interactions with it, as I find them to be reflective of our societal values and traditions. My primary medium is photography, both digital and analog, but I have also begun to incorporate other media like printmaking, drawing, and sculpture into my practice, often resulting in multimedia installations. I find a great deal of comfort in photography, as I deeply value its ability to act as a mirror of the viewer, while also finding inspiration in the nuances of the camera's inability to perfectly represent real life.
